Died of Wounds

Corpl. James Etherington, of the South Lancashire Regiment, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Etherington, of 76, Rectory Road, Burnley, has died of abdomen wounds received in the fighting in Italy.
He joined the Army in June, 1940, having previously been employed by Edward Lee, Ltd. He was a pupil of Stoneyholme Council School, and attended St. James's Sunday School. His wife is serving with the W.R.N.S.

Buried in the Forli War Cemetery, Italy.

Aged 30, he was the son of James Edward and Kezia Vernon Etherington; husband of Margaret Evelyn Etherington, of Nelson, Lancashire.
