C/85792 Pilot Officer Dennis Leonard Brewer, 408 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in the Supplement to the London Gazette of 17 November 1944, whilst serving with 426 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force. Shot down over Sage in Halifax number NP 733 whilst on operation Wilhemshaven. Took of from Linton on Ouse on the evening of 14 October 1944. POW from 15 October 1944. of Flying Officer has been made to Pilot Officer Dennis Brewer, of the
R.C.A.F., who, recently reported missing in air operations, is now a prisoner
of war in Germany. F./O. Brewer, whose mother resides at 32, Raglan Road,
Burnley, was born in Vancouver, B.C. He lived in London before the war,
and three years ago he volunteered R.C.A.F.
